Blog 9 : blog experiencie

I liked writing the blogs, I feel that talking about different topics encourages me to learn more vocabulary, I think I exercise writing in the first person, when i was watch news in English they usually speak in the third person. I think it would be a good idea to add topics from important current events, to encourage expressing opinions in English. But in general i liked the topics of the blogs, it doesn't take an exaggerated amount of time and the fact that the topics are not complicated makes it easy not to search for a technical vocabulary

He was a renowned architect based in Philadelphia, I quite like his work because he is usually minimalist and fully aware of what it is to conceptualize architecture, Kahn was always deeply involved in all his works. He reinterpreted the international style in an unconventional way, often drawing inspiration from ancient architecture. His works reflect his interest in light and materials. some of his works -library phillips exeter academy (Exeter - EEUU) salk institute (San Diego - EEUU) Jatiyo Sangsad Bhaban (dahka - Bangladesh) I met this architect in the first year, but I think he has influenced me more in the way I carry out a certain project, I always ask myself the same questions and I can justify the actions I am carrying out in a workshop project . the questions are usually the same ones that Kahn always philosophized

Blog 8: A subject you enjoyed studying this semester

This semester I have not had many references, but I took a transversal class in Chilean cinema, I was struck by director Raúl Ruiz who, unlike other Chilean directors, was a supporter of UP but did not agree with the films that the directors of the up. which were more a pamphlet of communism than stories that intimately demonstrate what was happening in the country. in the class we saw the movie "tres tristes tigres" a movie that tells the story of 3 characters who are immersed in a journey between bars and cantinas in the city trying to hide their misery, the film is inspired by the homonymous play written by Alejandro Sieveking, with adaptation of the script made by Ruiz himself, becoming his first feature film. Rául Ruiz The truth was that I had never seen Chilean cinema from those years, so I was very surprised to see a movie like this understand the context of how cinema was projected as a growing industry in the country, the ideas behind the directors. the focus that Ch...

Favorite Movie

one of my favorite movies is goodfellas a film about crime and dark humor It is an adaptation of the 1985 non-fiction book Wiseguy by Nicholas Pileggi. well this movie directed by martin scorsese tells the story of A young Henry Hill falls in love with criminal life and the presence of the mob in his Italian-American working-class neighborhood in Brooklyn. He begins working for local caporegime Paul "Paulie" Cicero and his associates: James "Jimmy" Conway, an Irish truck gangster and kidnapper, and Tommy DeVito, a fellow juvenile delinquent. This movie has a lot of dark humor and I particularly like it because it portrays a time of the USA (50'-60 ') where you can't always meet through books or music, I think that the development of each character makes you understand their codes, a movie that I can see repeatedly and does not bother me, it has many events in its plot so it would be difficult to try to explain the main focus of the movie but ...

Music

I don't usually get fond of a particular artist, I try to see artists in other edges besides their music, their producers, composers, I like artists who manage to enter the industry independently of genres like trap or techno, names like Roddy Rich, Pop Smoke, were names that have been at the top of magazines, Roddy has had a great hype for being young and his friendship with Nipsey Hussley (rapper murdered in Compton in 2019) and Pop Smoke was having a growing success but this year he was assassinated, he developed a sub genre of trap known as NY Drill which is an adaptation of the UK Drill, this genre has caused a great controversy in england starring in censorship episodes where they have removed YouTube videos from artists for their lyrics of extreme violence and illicit themes obviously this growing success of the genre was going to have an impact on the other artists, artists like beny jr, morad, are doing drill in spain, drake, tr avis scot, and in the near future po...
